There is no one-click delete button in the normal account menu, and you need a verified email address before Roblox will process the request. Deletion is permanent and wipes out your Robux, items and progress, so read the checklist below first.

Deleting a Roblox account removes your avatar, items and Robux for good. Deactivation is the reversible option.

Just want a break? Choose Deactivate instead of Delete. Deactivation hides your profile and disables the account, and you can bring it back any time by logging in again. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deactivate vs. delete: which one do you need?

Roblox offers two options in the same settings section, and they do very different things:

Deactivate Delete
What happens The account is disabled and your profile is hidden Roblox starts permanently deleting the data tied to your account
Robux, items and games Kept, waiting for you Access is gone for good
Still visible to others Some things, such as items you listed on the Marketplace No account to see
Can you undo it? Yes, log in at roblox.com No
Best for Taking a break, testing whether you miss it Leaving Roblox for good or removing your personal data

Roblox’s Terms of Use, updated November 1, 2026, spell it out: deleting your account “terminates access to the Account, to your Content, to your Robux, and to any Content you have accessed or used” on Roblox.

Checklist before you delete

  • Use or give up your Robux. Robux cannot be refunded or moved off a deleted account. Spend them first, or accept that they will be lost.
  • Cancel subscriptions. Roblox Premium stopped being sold on April 30, 2026, and was replaced by Roblox Plus. Check both under Settings > Subscriptions. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store too, so you are not billed for an account you no longer have. Note that a cancelled Premium membership cannot be restarted.
  • Download your data. In the same privacy settings section, select Request next to Request Account Data. Roblox sends a “Right to Access Report” with your account details, login history and payment history to your Roblox inbox and email. The download link expires after 7 days.
  • Save what matters. Take screenshots of your avatar and creations, and write down friends’ usernames and links to any games you built.
  • Verify your email. Go to Settings > Account Info, add an email if there is none, and click the link Roblox sends you. Without a verified email, the Delete option will not go through.

How to delete Roblox account permanently (step by step)

This works in any web browser on a computer, phone or tablet:

  1. Go to roblox.com and sign in to the account you want to remove.
  2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
  3. Open the Privacy section of your settings.
  4. Scroll down to Account data, deactivation & deletion.
  5. Select Delete. If the button is grayed out, your email is not verified yet.
  6. Follow the identity checks Roblox shows you. To protect your privacy, Roblox verifies that the request really comes from the account owner.
  7. Confirm the deletion request.

Roblox says it will tell you if there is a problem with your request and what extra information it needs. These steps match Roblox’s own help article, How do I deactivate or delete my account?, last updated November 1, 2026.

Deleting the app is not the same thing. Removing Roblox from your phone, PC or console only uninstalls it from that device. Your account, and everything in it, stays online until you request deletion.

How to delete Roblox account without logging in

Forgot the password, lost the email address or locked out of an old account? You can still ask Roblox to delete it under privacy law:

  1. Open the Roblox Support contact form at roblox.com/support.
  2. Fill in your contact details and the username of the account.
  3. Under Type of help category, choose Data Privacy Requests.
  4. Select the subcategory Right to be Forgotten.
  5. Describe the request, submit it and follow the identity-verification steps Roblox sends you.

Expect Roblox to ask you to prove the account is yours, for example through the email address or phone number linked to it. If you can still recover the account with Roblox’s “Forgot password or username?” link on the login page, doing that first and then deleting it in settings is usually faster.

What happens after you delete

According to Roblox’s Privacy and Cookie Policy (effective November 1, 2026), deleting your account makes Roblox start “permanent deletion of data in our systems”. Three things are worth knowing:

  • Some records stay for a while. Roblox may keep certain data when it is required to for tax, legal or security reasons.
  • Some identifiers stay for up to two years. For safety and security purposes, such as stopping bots, Roblox may keep processing persistent identifiers for up to two years after deletion.
  • You can still ask for your data. Roblox says you can request a Right to Access Report through its support page even after you have asked for your account to be deleted.

Once deletion goes through, the username, friends list, inventory and Robux are gone. If you change your mind later, you will need to create a brand-new account.

How to delete Roblox account for a child

Roblox’s privacy policy covers parents and guardians of users under 13. A parent can ask Roblox to review, delete or stop collecting a child’s personal information. Roblox asks parents to use the Customer Support Form and says that if a user is under 13, a parent or guardian should fill it in. You can also reach Roblox’s privacy team directly:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Phone (US): (888) 858-BLOX
  • Mail: Roblox Corporation, Attn: Roblox Privacy Manager, 3150 S. Delaware St., San Mateo, California 94403

Have the child’s username ready and be prepared to confirm that you are the parent. If the goal is to limit what your child can do rather than remove the account, Roblox’s parental controls let you set spending limits, chat rules and content maturity settings instead.

Your privacy rights, by where you live

Roblox says it honors the privacy rights of each user’s jurisdiction. Users in the European Economic Area, Brazil, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and some US states have a formal right to erasure, along with the rights to access, correct, restrict, move and object to the use of their data. That is why the support form route is called “Right to be Forgotten”. Users elsewhere can still delete their account through the settings menu.

Worried about a hacked account?

If you are thinking about deleting because of strange logins or someone else using the account, secure it first, before you work through how to delete Roblox account steps. A hacker who still has your password could interfere with the process. In Settings > Security, change your password, turn on 2-Step Verification and use Log out of all other sessions. Then decide whether to keep or delete the account. If you cannot get back in, use the support form described above.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Mixing up deactivate and delete. Only deactivation can be reversed.
  • Deleting before downloading your data. Request the Right to Access Report first, and download it within 7 days.
  • Forgetting subscriptions. App store subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not Roblox, so cancel them there.
  • Skipping email verification. The request will not go through without it.
  • Expecting every record to vanish instantly. Legal, tax and security data, and some identifiers for up to two years, can remain.

Roblox account deletion FAQ

Can you permanently delete a Roblox account?

Yes. Go to your privacy settings on roblox.com, select Delete under Account data, deactivation & deletion, verify your identity and confirm. The deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

How to delete Roblox account on mobile?

Open roblox.com in your phone’s web browser, sign in and follow the same steps: Settings, Privacy, Account data, deactivation & deletion, Delete. Uninstalling the Roblox app from your phone does not delete the account.

Why is the Delete button grayed out?

Roblox requires a verified email address on the account. Add or confirm your email under Settings > Account Info, click the verification link Roblox sends, then try again.

What happens to my Robux if I delete my account?

You lose them. Roblox’s Terms of Use say deleting your account ends access to your Robux and content, and Robux are not refunded. Spend them before you delete.

Can I get my Roblox account back after deleting it?

No. A deleted account cannot be restored. If you might want it back, deactivate it instead, which you can undo by logging in.

Does Roblox delete inactive accounts automatically?

You should not count on it. Roblox’s deletion process is built around user requests, so if you want an old account gone, request deletion yourself, either in settings or through the Right to be Forgotten support form.
